The IstanaI took these pictures during an open day at the Istana
over Chinese New Year 2001. It has an open day on most
public holidays when the general public can go along and have a
look round. At some time during the day the President will
appear and talk to the crowds that are wandering around the
grounds and the palace. MM Lee Kuan Yew still has his
office there as does SM Goh Chok Tong. Within the grounds
is a 9 hole golf course. A rare oasis on bustling Orchard
Road.
